WHO MAY USE THE LIBRARY
A. The library shall serve free of charge all who wish to use the facility.
B. Service shall not be denied or abridged because of religious, social, economic or political reasons; or because of mental, emotional, or physical conditions; age; or sexual orientation.
LIBRARY CARDS
A. Adult library cards shall be issued upon written application.
B. Children under the age of 14 must have a parent or guardian register for them in order to obtain a library card.
C. Borrower cards are valid for 3 years.
LOAN PERIOD
A. All circulating materials are loaned for 2 weeks.
B. Reference materials generally do not circulate. Upon request, some reference materials may be checked out for limited time periods.
C. Interlibrary loan materials are determined by the lending library.
D. The library may establish limited loans for special collections which are temporarily in great demand.
E. New patrons are limited to a check-out of 3 items and 3 videos/dvds per family. Established patrons may check-out 5 items and 5 videos/dvds per family. Exceptions may be made at the discretion of the Library Director.
F. Renewals may be made in person or by phone. No renewals for items on reserve.
RESERVES
Reserves may be placed either in person or by phone. Patrons will be notified by phone when the material requested is available and will have one week to pick materials up.
OVERDUE MATERIALS
A. A "conscience jar" is available for late return donations.
B. A first notice reminder phone call is placed after the materials are due.
C. If a second notice is necessary, that notice will be a bill for the cost of replacement of the material and processing charge.
D. Patrons with outstanding library materials may be restricted from library privileges until the matter is resolved.
LOST OR DAMAGED MATERIALS
A. The cardholder is responsible for the loss or damage to all materials borrowed on the card.
B. Lost books will be charged replacement and processing cost.
C. Damaged books will be assessed according to extent of damage.
DENIAL OF BORROWING PRIVILEGE OR LIBRARY USE
Use of the library may be denied for due cause, such as loss of books or other materials destruction of library property, and/or objectionable conduct.
